Robert Burke

Robert “Dan” Burke, age 65 of Meadville, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his residence. Dan was born on October 4, 1950 in Franklin to Robert C. Burke and Mildred (Kightlinger) Williams.   Dan first married Kathy Filleppa. He then married Karen Hayden during her illness. Dan considered her to be the love of his life. She passed shortly after they wed on December 26, 2009.   Dan attended High School in Saegertown. He then became a general contractor, specializing in roofing. He loved to watch Steelers football with his friends and family. In his healthier years, he enjoyed going to the stock car races and hunting. Coon hunting was his favorite.   Survivors include 3 children. A daughter Michelle Irwin of Blooming Valley, and sons, Mark Burke of Meadville and James Burke of Meadville. 3 grandchildren, Brittney and Terra Irwin and Mason Burke. A sister, Linda Lou Karns of Conneaut Lake, a brother Timothy Burke and his wife Dana of Naval Air Station of Patuxent River, MD. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.   Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred, his wife, Karen and a nephew, Paul Sutton.   Visitation will be held at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 20th from 5PM until 6PM, followed by a 6 pm Memorial Service. A private family burial will take place in Blooming Valley Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home.
