Robert (Rob) Scott Eckert died after a brief battle with lung cancer at his home surrounded by family on January 17, 2020 in Meadville, PA at the age of 55.
Rob is survived by his father, Michael Raymond Eckert, 5 brothers: Michael Eckert, Walter Eckert, Richard Eckert, Lloyd Eckert, Charles Eckert; 6 sisters: Grace Hahn, Joann Roboski, Sandi Ceasar, Patti Owen, Beth Morrow, Julie-Marie Eckert; 16 nieces and nephews, and his favorite person, Katrina Griswold. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catharine Currie Eckert of Saegertown, PA.
Rob was born on June 15, 1964 in Meadville, PA. He graduated from Maplewood High School in 1983. Rob was an exceptional volleyball player and played trumpet in both marching band and concert band. Rob worked at Sandalini’s for 23 years where he began as a waiter and worked his way up to assistant manager.
Rob was a loving uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a very talented cook and enjoyed sharing his meals with others. He enjoyed sewing, playing darts, watching sports, camping, spending time with friends and family, and doing arts and crafts with his niece and nephew. He was a generous and passionate individual who loved his family, friends, the Dallas Cowboys, and his cat.
A celebration of life dinner is scheduled for January 22, 2020 at West Mead 1 located at 10482 Liberty St., Meadville, PA from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. As Rob loved food, please bring your favorite dish to share as well as your favorite picture of Rob.
