Robert Grinnell

Robert Neil Grinnell, age 83, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away on Friday June 23, 2023 at Marquette Hospice House.  He was born on November 14, 1939 in Geneva, PA to the late Charles and Doris (Lauderbaugh) Grinnell.  He married Sandra K. Keith on November 11, 1961.  She survives.

Robert graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1957.  After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard the USS Oriskany.  Over the years, he worked at Avtex Fiber, Talon and PPG.  He retired from PPG after 28 years.  He then drove school bus for Conneaut Lake schools and worked at Active Aging until 2020.

Robert was a member of CLVFD Station #3, Fallowfield Fire& Rescue Pumphouse #45, Vernon Central Hose Company and VFW Post #2006.  He enjoyed playing cards, boating on the lake, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Sandy, he is survived by his children, Robert Grinnell Jr. and his wife, Tanya of CO, Michael Grinnell of Conneaut Lake, PA and Heather Blair and her husband, Chad of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandchildren, Amber Grinnell-Smith and her husband, Zach of Pittsburgh, PA, Lena Crystal Grinnell of Pittsburgh, PA, Marah Barker and her husband, David of Indianapolis, IN, Chase Grinnell and his significant other, Destiny of Anchorage, AK, Tamra Grinnell of Meadville, PA, Jessica Grinnell of DE and Olivia Blair of Pittsburgh, PA and 4 great grandchildren, Stellan, Zade, Jaxon and Brooklynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Richard and Brian Grinnell.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm with full military honors provided by VFW Post#2006 at 5:00pm immediately followed by a memorial service with Pastor Jim Tubbs officiating.

Robert will be laid to rest at Geneva Cemetery.
