Robert Hess

Robert “Bob” D. Hess Sr., age 68, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday February 8, 2025 at Corry Manor. He was born on August 6, 1956 in Erie, PA to the late Archie and Roseanna (Bennett) Hess.

Bob attended Meadville High School. He worked at Advanced Cast as a grinder for 16 years. He then worked for Warner Trucking and eventually became an over the road truck driver for 20 years, until his retirement in 2008.

He enjoyed tinkering with small motors and electronics, being outdoors, cooking, telling stories and CB radios. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Isis and Stella and especially loved time with his children and grandchildren.  He was previously married to Dawn (Burchfield) Hess of Conneaut Lake, PA with whom he shared five children.

Bob is survived by his five children, Krista Gagean and her husband, Michael, Robert “Bobby” Hess Jr, Jessica Hess, Shannon Hess all of Meadville, PA, Jonathan Hess of Titusville, PA; his significant other, Susan Copeland of Meadville, PA and his seven grandchildren, C.J., Cameron, Aurora, Cloe, Cayden, Carsyn and Declan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
