Robert J. Williams “Joe” of Conneaut Lake passed away at his residence recently after a two year illness. He was 70 years old. Robert was born in Meadville to Joan Palmer Williams and Frank E. Williams, on September 13, 1947. He attended Meadville and Conneaut Lake High School. He graduated from Conneaut Lake High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Thailand. After his duty he worked as a heavy equipment operator, building Interstate 79 at the Meadville Conneaut Lake exit. He then drove truck for Youngstown CartageCo. until they went out of business. Then he drove truck for Leaseway, hauling new cars, until his retirement. Joe loved watching Nascar and was proud of his new “Chevy” truck which he kept spotless. Cousin Doris Ream kept in touch with Joe, and they would discuss local news and family happenings. He is survived by a brother David (Karen) Williams of California. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly. A private burial will take place in Williams Cemetery.
