Robert Edwin Kelty

Robert Edwin Kelty , age 83, of Meadville, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Marquette Hospice House of Meadville, following a brief period of declining health. He was born January 26, 1932 in Cochranton, PA, the only child of Paul E. and Ruth (Matson) Kelty. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Cochranton High School, and then entered the U. S. Army in January 1951; serving in Germany. He was honorably discharged in December 1953. Bob worked and lived in Long Beach , California, returning to Cochranton to work at the PPG Plant in Meadville from October 1968 until he retired in January 1992. He married Mary L. Stephenson on May 16, 1994, and she survives. Together they attended jazz festivals all over the Midwest and taught line dancing at the Senior Center in Meadville for five years. Bob also volunteered at the Crawford County Humane Society. Bob loved all animals, both wild and domestic, and enjoyed the companionship of many cats and dogs during his lifetime. At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will take place, after cremation, in the Cochranton Cemetery. Cremation will take place at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home's Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville.
