Robert Siple

Robert Michael Siple, of Woodcock Township, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 in his home, surrounded by loving family. Bob was born November 22, 1938 in Meadville, and was the 2nd of 6 children by the late Robert E. Siple and Marian A. Murphy. He was a graduate of Meadville High School, where he met his wife, Diane. On May 24, 1958 he married Diane P. Quoresimo, who preceded him in death on April 7, 2022. Together they enjoyed traveling and sightseeing over their 63 years of marriage, as well as hosting family gatherings at their home.

Bob was employed as a Sales Manager with Wolff’s Hardware in Meadville, and as Regional Sales Manager with Queen Cutlery in Titusville. He also worked as Maintenance and Custodian with Crawford Central School District where he retired. Bob was a member of many local clubs, including the Elks, American Legion, VFW, and Hunting & Fishing Club, where he had numerous friends and many fond memories. Bob and Diane were both members of St. Brigid Catholic Church of Meadville.

Bob is survived by children Dr. Barbara Siple Milles (Ken) of Incline Village, NV, Deborah Siple Bradshaw of Meadville, R. Todd Siple (Amy) of Meadville, and Tim Siple of Cambridge Springs. He is also survived by his siblings Terrence Siple (Vesta) of PA, Mary Kay Sykes (Jim) of NC, John Siple of CA, and Dennis Siple of CA. Bob and Diane have 10 grandchildren; Eric Milles, Carl Bradshaw (Erin), Dr. Casey Bradshaw-Wilson (Tyler), Patrick Curley (Nyssa), James Curley (Kelly), Ethan Curley (Shauna), Nate Siple, Jesse Siple, Becca Siple (Cody), Stevie Siple, along with numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Siple.

Bob was known to all for his cheerful personality and infectious laugh. His ever-present smile will be remembered by anyone who knew him. He had many hobbies over his lifetime, including hunting & fishing, camping, and watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting competitions. He taught his family how to hunt and fish alongside him, which brought him immense joy. He also loved volleyball and shooting pool with friends. Another passion in his life was collecting pocket knives. He traveled the country to attend knife shows while employed with Queen Cutlery, and he continued to do so after changing careers. He was well known and respected in the pocket knife industry, and had numerous friends around the country who enjoyed knife collecting.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10-11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Meadville.   A celebration of life memorial service will take place at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Jeff Lucas of the Epiphany of the Lord Parish.

Bob will be laid to rest alongside his wife Diane at St. Brigid Cemetery in Meadville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.
