Rodney Baird

Rodney H. Baird, age 94, of Meadville, PA passed away on Monday April 11, 2022 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.  He was born on January 10, 1928 in Meadville, PA to the late Harold M. and Loretta (Lawyer) Baird.

Rodney graduated from Behrend Accounting School.  He worked as the assistant manager at A and P Supermarket and the manager of Center Bowl.  He proudly served in the United States Marines.

He was a self-taught accomplished bowler, winning many local tournaments.  He was a 58 year participant of USBC Open Championship and PA State Tournaments.  He was inducted into WCCUSBCBA Hall of Fame in 1979.  He also loved to golf, play cards, going to casinos and a good hot fudge sundae.

Rodney is survived by his two daughters, Becki Baird and her spouse, Beth Butryn of Meadville, PA and Lora Harvey and her spouse, Steve Harvey of Meadville, PA and two sons, Kurtis Baird and his spouse, Ramon Rodriguez of Meadville, PA and Rodrick Baird and his fiancé, Shelley Swezey of Meadville, PA; two grandchildren, Stephen Harvey and his fiancé, Erin Baker and Stacey Dodson and her spouse, Josh; four great grandchildren, Kennedy Baker, Jacob Harvey, Kinsley Harvey and Nathan Dodson and one brother, Bruce Baird.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Audrey Best and his brother, Robert Baird.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Meadville Plaza Lanes, 18799 Smock Highway, Meadville, PA 16335 on Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 4-8 pm.
