Roger A. Johnson

         Roger A. Johnson, age 87, of Meadville, PA died on Wednesday, January, 25, 2017 at the Meadville Medical Center.             He was born in Meadville, March 19, 1929, a son of Andrew L. and Florence Cotton Johnson.             He was an employee of The Xerox Corp., until his retirement, and had worked for the U.S. Postal service in Meadville, and the former Erie Railroad Co. He served in the U.S. Navy, WWII. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Johnson was fond of collecting history and had done extensive research on his Paternal and Maternal families. He was also a collector of clocks and enjoyed collecting and restoring them.             Survivors include his daughters: Mrs. Wayne E. (Colleen M.) Shimmel of Meadville, Mrs. John B. (Linda S.) Allen of Wilmington, NC. Two grandchildren: Michael (Jaime) Shimmel, and Brandon (Amanda) Allen. Five great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Ritter, Camryn Shimmel, Grayson Allen, Kiley Shimmel, Weston Allen             Roger was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Roxann Lindemuth, a brother: Lawrence E. (Red) Johnson, a granddaughter: Tricia Allen, and a half sister: Eleanor L. Dick.             Per Roger’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral and Crematory. A private service will be conducted, at the convenience of the family.
