Ronald B. Coleman, age 69 of Daytona Beach, Florida, and formerly of Meadville, PA passed peacefully from life on his birthday, August 15, 2016, following a brief but valiant battle with cancer.             He was born in Natrona Heights, PA on August 15, 1947, the son of the late Laura and Roland Coleman. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Falkner in l968.             Ron spent his school years on the baseball field playing catcher for Freeport High School and American Legion and was known by his friends as “Chooch”.             Ron graduated from Freeport High School in l965 and served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968 off the coast of Vietnam aboard the USS Boston and also sea duty on the USS Cadmus. He joined the Pennsylvania State Police in l968 working 25 years as a Trooper, specializing in auto theft, garage inspection and school bus safety/inspection. He received a Letter of Commendation from the PSP Commissioner for a large interstate investigation on stolen trucks. After he retired in 1992, he ran Coleman Professional Services as well as worked for Liberty Bail Bonds.             He loved playing softball with his State Police buddies. He was a good golfer, loved fishing, building model ships and spending time with family. Judy and he spent over 20 years camping at Playland Campground. He loved to travel and especially loved the ocean. On their 35th anniversary, he and Judy renewed their vows on a Hawaiian cruise.             While he lived in Pennsylvania, he was very active in the Zem Zem Shriners and the Legion of Honor. He was a Past Commander of the LOH as well as the Commander of the LOH of the Middle Atlantic States. He is a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He is a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Daytona Beach, Florida.             Ronald is survived by his wife Judy, a daughter, Krystee and her husband Bob Dennis; grandchildren, Breanna and Austin Bayer and step-grandchildren, Celina and Josh Dennis.             In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a sister: Joan Hubiack.             He was noted as a quiet man with a great sense of humor. His love for his family was evident as he was always concerned about their well-being. He was the best husband anyone could ever have…..chief cook and grocery shopper for the family for years. Always buying flowers for Judy and “spoiling” her according to her friends.             Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA 16335             The funeral service will be on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran church, 649 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA with Rev. Benjamin Travis, Pastor of the Church, officiating.             Memorial donations can be sent to Hope Lutheran Church, 594 N. Williamson Blvd., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114-1111, or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 649 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
