Russell A. Gosnell

July 5, 1926 — March 2, 2013

Russell Allen Gosnell, age 86, of Meadville passed away, Saturday, March 2nd 2013 at the Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was born July 5th 1926, the son of the late Ellis Gosnell and Olive Miller Gosnell. He was married to Evelyn Mattocks and she survives. Russell went to school at the Little's Corners School. He worked at a Milk Company on Terrace Street and also for Freddy Tires, and John Kapanick doing construction and work on the farm for over 20years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being around animals of any kind and also loved to eat pie. Russell was a kind and loving man who would do anything he could to help you out. Memories of him will live in our hearts forever. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his spouse, Evelyn Gosnell, of Meadville, three daughters, Evelyn L. Young and her husband, Charles, of Pittsburg; Brenda L. Muckinhaupt and her husband, Robert, of New Martinsville, WV; and Barby J. Confer and her husband, Dave, of Meadville; five sons; Wallace R. Gosnell, of Meadville; Russell E. Gosnell and his wife, Charlene, of Meadville; Fredrick A. Gosnell of Meadville, Floyd A. Gosnell and his girlfriend, Connie of Meadville, and Paul A. Gosnell and his wife, Sue, of Meadville. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Russell was preceded in death by his parents Ellis Gosnell and Olive "Michie" Gosnell, four brothers; Robert Gosnell, Kenneth Gosnell, Junior Gosnell, and Ransom Gosnell, four sisters; Beatrice Battles, Thelma Williams, Bernice Horst, and Pauline Myers, and a daughter-in-law, Pam and an aunt, Leona Crow. Memorial contributions can be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335 There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
