Ruth Calvert

Ruth Calvert, age 85, of S. Canal Rd., Conneaut Lake, PA passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 7, 2023.  She was born on April 29, 1938 in Meadville, PA to the late Robert and Theama (Dygert) Urquhart.  She married Bernard “Sonny” Calvert Jr on October 31, 1955.  He preceded her in death on July 3, 2016.

Ruth was a cook in various restaurants.  She also owned and operated Nanny’s Kitchen in Conneaut Lake.  She also traveled as a copilot with her husband across the United States.

She was a member of Faith and Grace Fellowship Church.  Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved watching county music shows.  She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Deborah Spratt of Conneaut Lake, PA and her son, Robert B. Calvert of Meadville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Mark Calvert and his wife, Rachael, Shannon Allen and her husband, Philip Jr. and Joshua Spratt and his significant other, Katherine Ellis; one sister, Barbara Scott of Conneaut Lake, PA and two brothers, Robert Urquhart and his wife, Dot of Cochranton, PA and Daniel Urquhart and his wife, Sandy of Meadville, PA; great grandchildren, Philip James Allen, Katrina Saylor, Brian Allen, Julianna Leone, Jacob Allen, Hannah Allen, Elizabeth Gilligan and her husband, Charles, Robert A. Calvert and Jarod Calvert and great-great grandchildren, Braiden Gilligan and Gabriella Gilligan.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Rhoades; her brother-in-law, Dan Scott; her daughter-in-law, Linda Calvert; her great grandson, William Spratt; her son-in-law, Jim Spratt; her brother-in-law, Charles Calvert and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Calvert.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday December 16, 2023 from 2-4 pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. 2nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  Funeral service will take place at 4 pm at the funeral home with Pastors Karen and Jack Bales of Faith and Grace Fellowship Church officiating.
