Ruth Challingsworth

Ruth Irene Challingsworth, 71, of Conneaut Lake, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 24, 2016.  She was born on Gardner Hill, PA, February 19, 1945.Ruth was the daughter of Clyde and Audrey Gardner. After graduating from Bennetts Valley High School, she married Burch Challingsworth August 17, 1963. After 50 years of marriage, he preceded her in death.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and youth group activities. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren.   Survivors include her four sons: Dave Challingsworth and his wife Betsy of South Fayette, PA, Thomas Challingsworth and his wife Dawn of Conneaut Lake, PA, Dan Challingsworth and Shannon of Conneaut Lake, PA, and Tim Challingsworth and his wife Kara of Cranberry Township, PA, eight grandchildren: Tyler, Zach, Morgan, Alex, Nicklaus, Luke, Jake and Payton Challingsworth, and three sisters: Laura Lovenduski, Pearl Biondi and her husband Tony, Jane Nesbit and her husband Ralph.  She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.    Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 5PM until 8PM at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 N. 2nd St. Conneaut Lake, PA , and from 10AM until 11 Am , Thursday, at the Trinity United Methodist Church.   The Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church 240 N. 3rd St Conneaut Lake with the Rev. Jay Sterling, Pastor of Trinity, officiating.   Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Challingsworth are in the care of the Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory 130 N. 2nd St. Conneaut Lake, Rocco R.
