Ruth P. Hall

Ruth P. Burkhardt Hall , 82, of Meadville, passed away, Sunday August 10, 2014, at UPMC Hamot in Erie. She was born March 5, 1932 in Franklin PA, the daughter of Loyal G. Burkhardt , and Leona I. Bean, Burkhardt. She married LeRoy J. Hall August 30, 1952. He preceded her in death February 10, 1995. Ruth graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1949. She worked at the Ernst Crown Vetch farms, and later retired from Hall's Excavating as a bookkeeper in 1989. Ruth was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed building puzzles, playing bingo, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter Joyce A. Lesniewski, and her husband John of Richmond Ohio; two sons, James E. Hall and his wife Dianne L. of Meadville, PA, and Bernard E. Hall and his wife Lisa of Carlton, PA; two brothers, Charles A. Burkhardt and his wife Naomi of Franklin, PA and Ralph E. Burkhardt and his wife Peggy of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren Christopher J. Hall, Bradley and Timothy Betts, Adam Hall, Nicole Clay, and Lane and Samantha Hall; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband LeRoy Hall, and her parents Loyal and Leona Burkhardt, she was preceded in death by two brothers Chester G. and Harold D. Burkhardt. Calling hours will be Thursday August 14, 2014 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, where the funeral service will follow at 6:00pm with Pastor Kenneth Hough, of the Watson Run Church of Meadville officiating. Internment will take place at Huber Cemetery in Union Township. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Vernon Central Hose Company, 16589 McMath Ave., Meadville, PA 16335.
