Ruth Thomas Lohr of Meadville, age 91, passed away peacefully August 30, 2018. She was born in Atlantic, PA on February 8, 1927, the daughter of James Lynn and Mabel Thomas. She was married to her loving husband Alva H. Lohr on October 25, 1952; he preceded her in death in 1987. Together they enjoyed traveling; dancing, visiting the beach and had a great love affair for 35 years and together they had one daughter and two sons. Ruth retired from The Visco after 41 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Meadville, belonged to West Mead Fire Hall, American Legion auxiliary and had volunteered at Meadville Medical Center for 16 years. She loved and adored her family; always giving and caring; always placing family first. Later in life, Ruth was often seen with her good friend, Frank Bahurinsky. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing cards, gardening and caring for others. Survivors include two sons: Rick and his wife Debra of Cape Canaveral, FL; Todd and his wife Denise of Erie, PA and one daughter: Tammy Escobedo and her husband Daniel of Delaware, OH. She has five grandchildren: Carlos and his wife, Sarah, Jacob, Alyssa, Teagan and Annoel. She is also survived by her sisters, Roma McConnell of Greenville; Harriett Scofield of Sheakleyville and her brother Pete Thomas of Atlantic. She was preceded in death by four sisters; Marie Shepard, Laura Bailey, Waeta Campbell and Twila Doza and her seven brothers; Mason, Harvey, James Lynn Jr., Duane, Raymond, Robert and Oakley Thomas. Calling hours will be Monday, September 3 from 4-7 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home. The funeral will take place Tuesday, September 4 at 11 a.m at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home with Pastor Rebecca Patterson of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.
