Ruth Maxine Rocca

Ruth Maxine Rocca, age 95, of Meadville, PA and formerly of Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away on February 8, 2015 at the Mt. Hope House, Meadville, PA. She was born July 22, 1919 in Monongahela, Pa the daughter of the late Guilio and Mary Boback Pellegrini. She had been employed at the former Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA, Edinboro College, Edinboro, PA and at Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, PA. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cambridge Springs. Ruth enjoyed time cooking and baking pies for the restaurant that she and her husband owned. She later became involved with quilting. She joined the Quilters Club, of which she has been a part of for many years. She made hand quilted quilts, enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Lory Schorting of Meadville, PA, a son; Thomas P. Rocca and his wife Cheryl of Woodstock, Georgia, five grandchildren; LeeAnn Leech and her husband Michael, Caroline Carradine, Angela Rocca, Suzanne Rocca, Beth Tucker and her husband, Jonathon, four great-grandchildren; Emily Leech, Ryan Leech, Crystal Carridine and Abigail Bass, a sister, Jennie Tragone of Monongahela, PA, nephews, Pete Tragone, Gary Tragone, and Rudolph Berty. She is also survived by good friends and neighbors, Jennifer, Dick and Laura Olon of Cambridge Springs, PA, and her friends she made with the staff of Mt. Hope Home Care. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff for the exceptional care given to Ruth and for the family like atmosphere she received. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Fidolma Berty and a nephew, Dennis Berty. Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA.
