Sally Lou Black

Sally Lou Black, age77, formerly of Conneaut Lake PA, died peacefully in her sleep at Wesbury United Retirement Community on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.  She was born on January 1, 1942 in Mckeesport, PA to the late Clifford Mossburg Jr. and Vivian Swanson.  Sally Lou was married to Dennis Black for 53 years. He proceeded her in death on February 28, 2019.  She was a graduate Conneaut Lake High School.

Through the years, Sally Lou worked at Freauf’s Drug Store in Conneaut Lake, PA, the Greenwood Pharmacy in Linesville, PA, and a daycare in Texas until her retirement.

Sally Lou was of Methodist Faith.  In her early years, Sally enjoyed her time with friends, especially at the Cow Shed. Later in life She loved to cook, knit, do crafts, and paint. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren.

Sally is survived by her 5 children Jeffrey Ricketts and his companion Melinda Brown of Conneaut Lake, Brian Black and his wife Jeannine of Wisconsin, Eric Black and his wife Jennifer of Texas, Kelly Black and his wife Ann of Texas and Debbi Kendrick and her husband Aaron of Texas. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren.

Sally Lou was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dennis.

Calling hours for Sally Lou will be held at Dickson’s Funeral Home, 130 North Second Street Conneaut Lake, PA. on Saturday August 31, 2019 from 1pm to 4pm. At a later date, interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
