Sally Growley

Sally Ann (Hamley) Growley, age 89, of Westford, PA passed away on September 22, 2021 in Greenville, PA. She was born on May 1, 1932 to the late Wendle and Hattie (Aring) Hamley. She married Harold H. Growley on November 15, 1952. Sally was a 1951 graduate of Linesville High School. She worked for many years at Hurlbert’s Hardware and then The Lil’ Bit Restaurant where she made many lifelong friends. Sally enjoyed spending time with friends at the Linesville Senior Center and their adventures on the CATA bus. She was a skilled seamstress, avid puzzle builder, award-winning cross-stitcher and crocheter, and made countless sewing projects to share with her loved ones and to donate to the Linus Project, but she was quick to tell you that she didn’t cook. She loved to travel, visiting nearly all 50 states and Canada with her husband, Harold, on Anderson Bus Tours. Sally was of the Methodist faith. Sally is survived by two daughters, Susan Warren of Atlantic, PA and Debra Kean and her husband, Dan of Atlantic, PA and one son, Howard Growley and his wife, Ann of Harborcreek, PA; six grandchildren, Jon and Tim Growley, Danielle Kyper and her husband, Caleb, Kristy Porter and her husband, Michael, Garrett Warren and his soon-to-be-wife, Amber and Katie Warren; three great-grandchildren, Keagan, Peyton and Finnley and one sister, Wilma Rowan and her husband, Donald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her son, Jeff, her sister, Lucille (Sue) McCormick, and her two brothers, Harry and Wendle “Fritz” Hamley. There will be no services held at this time, but friends and family will gather at a future date to celebrate her life, as we know she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
