Shirley A. Davenport

Shirley A. Davenport, age 87, of Conneautville, PA passed away on Friday August 15, 2025at Wesbury United Methodist Community. She was born on June 5, 1938 in Timblin, PA to the late William and Mae K. (Frye) Dinger. She married Donald H. Davenport on May 1, 1955. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2015.

Shirley worked for American Viscose Corporation and later on, Carlisles (Peebles). She attended Norrisville United Methodist Church.

Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing games on her Kindle. While at Wesbury, she loved playing bingo, attending concerts and being with her friends. She cherished time spent her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Wilson and her husband, William of Meadville, PA and Linda Davenport of Conneautville, PA and her son, Jeffrey Davenport and his wife, Tommi Jo of Meadville, PA; her grandchildren, Becky Letcher and her husband, Donald, Tabetha Rudd and Jessica O’Conner and her husband, Mike and her great grandchildren, Alex and Lilly Letcher, Cooper Rudd and Oliva Kiser and Nicholas Hargett. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and her special niece and nephew, Cindi and Jody Potts and her loving granddog, Baxter, who visited her every day at Wesbury.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William and Phyllis Dinger, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Brown and her brother-in-law, Anthony Mattera.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the people who took care of their mom and especially the staff on Village Center for the wonderful care, love and friendship they provided to her.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday August 21, 2025 from 11:00 until the time of the service at 12:00 noon at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335. Service will be officiated by Pastor Sam Marchetta. Shirley will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Dicksonburg Cemetery.
