Shirley June White

Shirley June DeRemer White, 85, of Lynchburg, Virginia and formerly of Meadville, Pennsylvania, entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Captain Forrest D. White. Born on January 14, 1929 in Meadville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Susie DeRemer. Shirley was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, and a former member of the Calvary Baptist church, Meadville. She was also a longtime volunteer for many organizations including Guggenheimer Nursing Home, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and TRBC 50 plus. She was the treasurer for Calvary Baptist Christian Academy in Meadville, PA and volunteered in many other church ministries. Shirley loved to bake, sew, and paint. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, Paul LeRoy DeRemer. Left to cherish her memory are her son Forrest James "Jamey" White and wife Lisa and their children, Libby and Matthew; daughter, Cheryl Ann King and her children, Christopher Powers and wife Ashley and their daughter Penny, Anthony King and his friend Kristina Eckart, Michael King and wife Courtney and their son Asher, Victoria King, and Faith King; her brothers, Bruce DeRemer and wife Adina and their son Scott, and Virgil DeRemer and wife Virginia and their daughters Joyce and Fay and their families; stepdaughters, Patricia White and Susan Wiley; and friends and staff at Lynchburg Health and Rehab.
