Our Mother, Friend and Confidant, Sue Ann (Wykoff) Yenny, gained her angels wings, July 31, 2019. Sue was born to Beatrice and Karns Wykoff on March 31, 1938.
Sue attended Cambridge Springs Elementary and High School. She was a graduate of the class of 1956 and kept in touch with many of her high school classmates for the remainder of her life.
While in high school, maybe even before, she met the love of her life, Frederick Casper Yenny, affectionately known as “Jim”. They married on May 3, 1957.
They were blessed with five children; Jeffery, Vincent, Clifford (deceased), Todd and Sonya. They spent most of the rest of their lives together in Venango, where Sue was for a time, the tax collector and Jim was the mayor.
The family loved to spend time outdoors, which lead to their purchase of a lovely camp in Marionville PA. They spent many years camping there with their good friends Doris and Bill Doyle and their family.
Sue, blessed us all, by caring for and nurturing her family. She was not only the creator of a loving and close family, but also a creator of wonderful home cooked meals, cookies, cakes and pies. Blankets, afghans, curtains, clothes. You name it, she made it.
Sue always made sure we were together for Holidays or Special Occasions. She built a huge addition on to her house in Venango for such things. It gave her great joy to have family and friends together. We have so many memories that she gave us we will always be grateful for. Knowing she is with Our Lord Jesus, her Husband, Jim and Son, Cliff is all we could ask for.
Sue is survived by her children Jeffrey, Vincent, Todd and his wife Teresa, Sonya and her husband Perry. Grandchildren: Dasha, Michael, Dustin, Sabrina, Alex, Chelsey, Adam, Lee Ann, Hannah, Chris, and Cassie. She was furthered blessed with 13 great Grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Her Sisters, Phyllis Easley and her husband Tom, Carole Duffy and her Husband Harold, Brother, Buzz Wykoff and his wife Marilyn. Her Brother in law Harold and his wife Patty Yenny and her sister in law Heidi Yenny.
She has many nieces, nephews and “adopted children”, whom were loved and cherished by Sue also.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son, Clifford and her Husband Jim.
Sue has asked, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Hospice of Crawford County. The angels that work there, made it possible, along with Sonya that she remained at home in her final days.
We will be having a Celebration of Sue’s life at The James T. Bowers Post 169 VFW, in Venango, PA at a later date. We will announce this date in a few days.
