Suzanne Ortwein

Suzanne Renee Ortwein, age 65, of Meadville, PA passed away on January 29, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was born on September 9, 1956 in Indiana, PA to the late Lois Marlene (Heffernan) and Ernest Lee Aul.

Suzanne attended Meadville High School.  She was a stay at home mom.  She was a woman known for many things but the biggest was her compassion.  Her life was always dedicated to her family.  She spent many years dedicated to the Eastern Star doing charity work and helping as many people as possible.  She enjoyed going on road trips with friends exploring the country and collecting many stories along the way.  She had a sense of humor and laughed like no other.  A hand to hold and an ear to listen was something she gave to everyone.  She was a confidant to many.  She was an avid coffee drinker and collector of anything with cows and tigers.  The Christmas holiday was always her favorite time of year, there was no room untouched by her Christmas decorations.  Becoming a Nana was the highlight of her life and she made sure everyone knew it.  “Good food, good friends, good family” was a motto she tried to live by every day.  She will be missed every day but the memories we have to hold onto are priceless.

Suzanne is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ortwein and her fiancé, Mike Corby of Meadville, PA; her granddaughters, Alexia and Cheyenne Corby; one sister, Tamara Guelich and her significant other, Wyn Winslow of Saegertown, PA; two brothers, Mike Guelich of Meadville, PA and Timothy Guelich of Saegertown, PA and several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved cousin, Beth Steetle Reed.

Family and friends are invited to call at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA on Saturday February 26, 2022 from 12-2 pm.  A memorial service will take place at 2 pm at the funeral home.
