Sylvester J. "Dudley" Schall, Mr. Fireworks- "The Boomer", of Meadville, PA passed away on September 21, 2015 at Juniper Village. He was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Thomas Schall and Maria Raucci Schall. He graduated from High School and then attended Gannon University. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having entered the service on Feb. 1, 1943 in Erie. He was discharged as a Private on October 4, 1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Dudley was the former owner and exhibitor of the former Meadville Fireworks Manufacturing Company, Charter Member Pyrotechnics Guild International, International Pyrotechnics Society, International Society of Explosive Engineers, American Association of Explosive Engineers, American Pyrotechnics Association, Pennsylvania Pyrotechnics Association, Florida Pyrotechnics Art Guild, Western Pyrotechnics Association, a former member of the United Way of Western Crawford County under Dwight Haas, as well as co-chairman West and former executive board member. He was a member of the Crawford County Democratic Party, Fourth Ward, Committee Person, board member of the Associated Family Services, former member of the National Fuel Gas Neighbor for Neighbor Program, a life member of the Italian Civic Club, Meadville, PA, the Meadville Coin Club, AM Walkers, the Siebenburger Club in Erie, Unione Poeta Calabria Societa, New Castle, PA, St Mary's Holy Name Society, American Federation of Musicians, Local #17, Erie, PA. He was a life member of the Meadville Bicentennial events and activities committee, fireworks and fundraising chairman and treasurer. Former field representative and board member, of Local #964, New Castle, in charge of Crawford County, Secretary and Delegate to Crawford County Building Trades Council. He was the editor in chief of the Gannonite College Weekly while at Gannon, the sigma Delta Chi National Newspaper Fraternity. He was the founding president of the Wolves Club, Den #XI in Meadville. He was a past board member, 1st Vice-President of the National, the National Convention Chairman, man of the year award under the Santia Administration. Dudley was a social member of VFW Post 2006, the Millennium Committee, the Meadville Council on the Arts, The Hunting and Fishing Club of Crawford County. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #234, Meadville, a 32ND Degree Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of New Castle, Zem Zem Shrine, Erie. He l989 he joined the firm of Pryrotechnico Fireworks USA at it's corporate headquarters in New Castle, as an independent contractor until the present. He was a fifth generation Scialla Fuochist I Da Marcianise, Italia. Dudley was an avid New York Yankees fan and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is survived by a daughter: Maria Schall and her partner, Tracy Leet of Edinboro, PA. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dudley was preceded in death by four brothers: Paul, Peter, Francesco, and Thomas Antoine, and by six sisters: Catherine, Carmella I, Carmella II, Madge, d Luella, and Mary.
