Thelma Josephine Worley, age 91 of Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Meadville, PA passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1925 in Kent, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Hoy and Mary Schrader Hoy. She married Clarence H. Worley on November 2, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1983. Thelma graduated from Kent State High School in Kent, Ohio. She had worked in the cafeteria at the Conneaut Lake High School. She then worked at and retired from Montgomery Wards in the Meadville Mall. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent, Ohio. She enjoyed playing 500 cards, and watching poker on television. She enjoyed working word puzzles. She loved bowling and she had been a former member of the Rebekahs. Thelma had fewer greater joys than her visits from her grandchildren Stephania Worley Kandel and Kelly Worley Mendelsohn and her grandchildren, Gabby, Sara, NaTalie and Sabrina. They were her joy. She is survived by two sons: John H. Worley and his wife Barbara of Washington, Michael D. Worley and his wife Barbara of Meadville, PA, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by a son; Keith Edward Worley and a grandson; Jason Burdick, and her sister: Helen Sibert of Ohio, and a brother Eddie Hoy from Ohio, whom she never forgot after he was killed in action during World War II.
