Thomas Brown

March 7, 1941 — September 25, 2021

Thomas Michael Brown, age 80, of Cambridge Springs, PA passed away on September 25, 2021 after a lengthy illness at Crawford County Care Center Memory Unit.  He was born on March 7, 1941 in Greenville, PA to the late Linniebelle (Brown) Mayer.

Tom graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1959. He then proudly served in the United States Air Force and Navy.  After the military, he then earned his education degree from Edinboro College.  He taught Earth and Space Science at Cambridge Springs High School from 1969-2004.  He retired after 35 years of teaching.  He also worked at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home for over 20 years.  Tom was a PIAA basketball and football official and he coached basketball for Cambridge Springs High School for many years.  He was a past council man on the Cambridge Springs Borough Council.

He was a man of faith and loved to sing in church.  He also loved to sit in restaurants and read the newspaper, enjoy his coffee and visit with everyone.    Most of all, Tom loved his daughters and his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Martha Haregsin and her husband, David of Cambridge Springs, PA and Melissa Gawlinski and her husband, Robert of Waterford, PA; five grandchildren, Dominic Gawlinski, Joely Haregsin, Cassidy Lane and her husband, Glenn, Gracelyn Gawlinski and Hunter Haregsin and his former spouse, Linda Boylan Brown.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother; his sister, Bonita Woodring; his beloved pug, Rollie and many dear friends.

As per Tom’s request, there will be no services.  Tom will be laid to rest at Cambridge Springs Lower Cemetery.
