Thomas R. Doubet (Tom), age 76, a lifelong lakeside resident of Edinboro, PA peacefully passed away on December 9, 2024 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult two year battle with cancer.
Tom was born on October 29, 1948 to the late Raymond and Marian (Girardat) Doubet in Meadville, PA. He was the oldest of nine children.
He graduated from Saegertown HS in 1967. After graduation, he worked for PENNDOT and farmed. He later became the maintenance/custodial manager of the Edinboro Mall and finally worked for General McLane School District at Edinboro Elementary in maintenance until his retirement in 2010.
Tom enjoyed hunting and was proud that he hadn’t missed a first day of deer season in over 60 years. He was also an avid golfer and a decades- long Wednesday night league golfer at Venango Valley Golf Course. He was always up for a long drive to travel a road he had never been on. He also enjoyed playing darts and being part of the Valley Inn shuffleboard team. He was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and attended several home games as a season ticket holder.
In 1970, Tom married Constance Stearns and went on to have 3 sons, Xaiver, Ira and Newton. They divorced in 1985. Tom then met Charleen Dickerson and they married in 1994. They were always by each other’s side and happily married to this day.
In addition to his beloved wife of 32 years, Charleen, he is survived by his three sons, Xaiver Doubet, Ira (Brenda) Doubet and Newton Doubet; his four step children, Rob (Deb) Dickerson, Rick (Elizabeth) Dickerson, John (Lisa) Dickerson and Sheri (Chad) Socher; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Gene (Candace) Doubet, Joseph (Lynn) Doubet, John (Susan) Doubet and three sisters, Linda Doubet, Mary (Carl) Phillips and Dorothy (Robert) Walk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Paul Doubet.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday December 27, 2024 from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm at Hatheway Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335. The service will be conducted by Pastor John Bowers of Grace Fellowship International Church of Erie, PA. Tom will be laid to rest on Saturday December 28, 2024 at 10:30 am at Miller Station Cemetery in Cambridge Springs, PA.
