Tom Hippert

Tom (Hip) Hippert age 80 of Conneaut Lake, PA and formerly of Brookline PA, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born July 5, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late John Jacob and Margaret Ellen Dougherty Hippert. He married Carol Ann Lloyd on January 12, 1954. She survives. Tom was a longtime car salesman in Pittsburgh and in Tionesta, where he owned Hippert Ford of Tionesta. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved golfing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins Fan. He enjoyed telling stories of days past and cherished time spent with family and friends. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Carol Ann Hippert of Conneaut Lake, PA he is survived by a daughter; Jodi Millin and her husband Jeff of Conneaut Lake, PA, four sons, Jake Hippert and his wife Becky of Savannah, Georgia, Bert Hippert and his wife Judy of Tionesta, PA, Mike Hippert of Pittsburgh, PA and Pete Hippert of Aliquippa, PA, seventeen grandchildren; Scott (Alisha) Hippert, Jenny (B.J.) Knight, Julie (Brian) Skyrms, Carly (Toby) Wyland, A.J. (Kathy) Hippert, Brenna (Bruce) Yeager, Josh (Jenny) Hippert, Carol Hippert, Zach Hippert, Kim Hippert, Peter Hippert, Ian Hippert, Riley Hippert, Josh Millin, Jaclyn Millin, Jenna Millin and Jeffrey Millin, thirteen great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Hippert and John Hippert and by two sisters, Peggy Giles and Mamie Hunklee. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of the Memorial Service at 1 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N Third Street, Conneaut Lake, with the Rev. Jay Sterling of the church, officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 2006, Meadville. Following the service, family and friends are encouraged attend Tom's Irish Wake at Walt's Tavern in Conneaut Lake to celebrate his life in his way.
