Velva Jewell

Velva Jewell, age 77, of Meadville passed away August 6, 2019 at Crawford County Care Center.  She was born July 20, 1942 to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Brown) Cottrell.  She married John Jewell.

Velva worked at Vallonia Industries.  She was a long-time resident of Crawford County Care Center where she made many friends.

She is survived by three sisters; Janet Durand, Sherry Scere and Linda Shaffer and three brothers; Henry Cottrell, Jr. , Richard Cottrell, Clifford Cottrell and two children.

She was preceded in death by three sisters; Florence Haylett, Esther Luzier and Myrtle Proctor.

Friends and family are invited to call Thursday, August 15 from 5-6 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St. Meadville, PA.  A brief service will take place at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m.
