Beth graduated from Greensboro High School in 1936 and she received her B.A. Degree from Berry College, Rome, GA in 1941. She worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. until her marriage to Therman B. Duckworth on April 12, 1942. From 1942 until 1952 they lived in Birmingham, AL, where Therman worked for U.S. Steel and she worked for the First National Bank of Birmingham. In 1952 they moved to Rockwood, TN, and in 1956 to Coraopolis, PA, where Therman worked for Jones and Laughlin Steel for 24 years. Here Beth was active in New Bethlehem Church a historian, Sunday School teacher, deacon and president of U.P. Women, President of Beaver-Butler Presbytery and a delegate to Purdue from Synod of Mid-South. She served 20 years as a Brownie scout leader and vice-president of the Beaver-New Castle Girl Scout Council. She was a volunteer for the Aliquippa Hospital Auxillary and also served on the hospital board as the first femal director. Beth and Therman retired to Myrtle Beach in January of 1980. They were members of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as president of U.P. Women, Circle chairman, teacher of the Steward's Sundy School class. She was a member of the Myrtle Beach Garden Club and the Archibald Rutlege Club.
