Verda Wood

Verda Wood, age 88, of Meadville, PA passed away January 9, 2022 at her residence.  She was born on August 31, 1933 in Meadville, PA to the late Irwin and Goldie (Murry) Fairweather.  She married Alfred Wood on September 22, 1976.  He preceded her in death on August 4, 1998.

Verda graduated from Saegertown High School.  She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Hillside Home.  She enjoyed doing word searches and decorating her home for the holidays.

She is survived by her four children, Carol Tincher and her husband, Bob of Erie,PA, Donna Blystone and her husband, Larry of Pittsburgh, PA, Gary Adams of Erie, PA and Linda Rough and her husband, Jeff of Carlton, PA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Patty Campbell of MA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday January 13, 2022 from 11- noon at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  Funeral service will take place at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Hasenkopf officiating.  Verda will be buried next to her husband at Roselawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
