Viola May Barber

Viola “Vi” Barber, age 77, of Meadville, PA passed away after a brief illness at Meadville Medical Center on Tuesday November 30, 2021.  She was born on August 20, 1944 in Meadville, PA to the late Delmar and Thelma (Savuga) Rath.   She married Timothy Barber in July 1987.  He survives.

Vi worked as a housekeeper at Meadville Medical Center for 33 years.  She was a member of Wayland Baptist Church.  She read her Bible daily.  She enjoyed doing bead crafts and making jewelry, baking and canning and babysitting her great granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, Tim of Meadville, PA, she is survived by three daughters, Donna Darling and her significant other, Robert Rossi Jr. of Hermitage, PA, Janet Wensel and her husband, Marvin Jr. of Saegertown, PA and Christine Onspaugh of Meadville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Darling and his significant other, Amanda Casaday of Dadeville, AL, Nathan Darling and his wife, Nicole of Parma Heights, OH and Rebecca Haight and her husband, Justin of Cochranton, PA and 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Freida Dewey and her husband, George of Jamestown, NY, Judy Simmerman and her husband, Howard of Linesville, PA and Linda Scott and her husband, Dan of Tidioute, PA and two brothers, Delmar Rath and Carl Rath both of Cochranton, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mildred Cipra and one brother, George Rath.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday December 4, 2021 from 2-4 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  Service will take place at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Nicole Darling officiating.
