Walter Edward Lasch Jr.,87, of Conneaut Lake Pa passed away December 27,2015 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community, Conneautville, PA. Born July 5, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Walter Edward Lasch Sr, and the late Lydia Jane (Murray) Lasch. Walter married Irma L. Ketterer on February 14, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2000. He attended Conneaut Lake High School. Walter was an established business man for over 50 years. He was in the automotive business since 1941 where he helped with his father’s business from age 13 until 1967. Walter then founded Lasch’s Auto Sales and Service in 1968 on the Eastside of Conneaut Lake, where it operates by his son Walter the III today. He always accommodated his customers and treated them like family. Customer service was very important to him. Walter served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1952 when he was discharged with honors. During his time served, he was a crew chief aircraft mechanic. Walter was active in several clubs and organizations. He was a past commander of the VFW Post 7842 of Linesville, past affiliation of The American Legion Post 587, The Lions Club of Conneaut Lake, former member of the Pennsylvania Independent Auto Dealers Association and a member of the Our Lady Queen of Americas Church. Walter loved golfing. He sponsored the Highway Men’s League at the Park Golf Course for many years. He was a member of the VFW Sunday morning golf league. He cherished his time with the guys playing cards. But most importantly, family always came first to him. Walter’s family would like to thank Rolling Fields Eldercare Community and their staff for the care of their loved one. Walter is survived by 4 children, Dorothy Dodie (James) Gagen of Linesville; Walter E (Heidi) Lasch III of Conneaut Lake; Diane (Erin) Healey of Munhall, PA; and David Lasch of Conneaut Lake. He has 6 grandchildren, Bridget Lasch (her fiancé Andy Allen) of Jackson Mississippi; Lydia (Mike) Link of Conneaut Lake; Kristen (Jon) Parise of Greentree; Steven (Jessica) Healey of West Mifflin; David and Steven Lasch of Conneautville. He also has 2 great grandchildren, Kendall and Kevin Healey. He was also survived by his beloved cousin Eugene Lasch of Cleveland Ohio and niece Donna Bochine of Loris, SC. Walter was also preceded in death by a son Michael Lasch in 1977 and a sister Virginia Edwards. Visitation for Walter will be held Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 4pm to 7 pm at Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 N. Second St Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 with military honors service conducted by the VFW Post 7842 of Linesville at 7pm. The funeral will be at the funeral home at 11 am on Wednesday December 30, 2015 with Father Jeffery Lucas of Our Lady Queen of Americas, Conneaut Lake, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 2006 following. A luncheon will be provided for family and friends at the Linesville VFW 6913 Gehrton Rd. Linesville, PA following the funeral.
