Wanada Gail Zimmer

Wanada “Gail” Zimmer (Brenner) of Blooming Valley passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her residence with family by her side.             She was born November 18, 1935 in Woodland, California to Orville and Ethel (Smith) Brenner. Wanada married Charles William Zimmer in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 22, 1958. He survives.             Gail graduated from Mira Costa High School, Manhattan Beach, California in 1953.  Following graduation, Gail worked for Northrup Corporation in California and upon relocating to Meadville, worked at Woolworths.             Her many hobbies included hunting alongside Charles for both deer and coon. As an avid reader, she was always eager to discuss storylines, plots, and characters as well as share her volumes of books with family and friends. Gail took great pride in maintaining a welcoming home and always had a pot of coffee brewing for anyone stopping by.  She enjoyed decorating her home for the various holidays with her vast ornamental collection.   Gail had a passion for travel, and her lifetime goal was to travel to all 50 States, which she and Charles accomplished together.             Gail is survived by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Charles, her brother Norman (Jennetta) Brenner of Adrian, PA, her in-laws, Stanley of Conneautville, Donald (Nancy) Zimmer, June Hays and Christine Walker, all of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.             Calling hours will be held from 1 until time of the funeral service at 2 PM, with Rev. Lea Guiney, officiating, on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.             In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 454 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335, Yolanda G.
