Wanda A. Dietz

Wanda A. Dietz, 86 of Conneautville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 9th at Meadville Medical Center. Wanda was born on October 11, 1926 at Meadville, PA, the daughter of the late Roy and Reba Cutshall Swavey. She married Clarence K. Dietz on March 10, l945, and celebrated 56 years of marriage at the time of his death, on June 22, 2001. She retired at Saegertown GTI. In her earlier years, she enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting and especially loved garage sales and her feline companion, Corky. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Colleen Dietz of Meadville, PA, her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Elmer Smith of Meadville, PA; six grandchildren, Wanita Burlingham and her husband, Mike, Stephanie Rowland and her husband, Scott, Scott J. Dietz, Sherry E. Smith, Tabitha Longo and her husband, Chuck, and Jackie Smith; nine great-grandchildren, DruAnn Hollabaugh and her husband Matt, Dylan Vatter, Emilee Myers, Michelle Dietz, Jordanna Longo, Dominick Longo, Darren Henry, BayLee Henry and Justin Burlingham, one great-great-granddaughter, Claira E. Hollabaugh, and a great-great-grandchild due in October; a sister, Effie Axtell of Saegertown, PA. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Darwin Swavey and Robert Swavey, and a sister, Mide Dietz. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Leah Guiney of the Polk United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Denny Cemetery.
