Wanda Lucille Rhoades

Wanda Lucille Rhoades, age 61 of Carlton: formerly of Conneaut Lake passed away, unexpectedly, on November 26, 2015, at the Meadville Medical Center. Wanda was born, July 17, 1954 in Meadville, the daughter of James Lynn Thomas Jr. and Josephine E. Welsh (Thomas).   Wanda married Dwight Rhoades of Carlton, on June 10, 2006---Dwight survives. Wanda was a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School-Class of 1972, she was employed as a corrections officer and a cook, at the Crawford County Jail.   Wanda was a Christian of the Methodist Faith, and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking (she was notorious for her apple dumplings), and collecting anything that was related to “rabbits”. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. Surviving Wanda in addition to her husband are: 2 daughters:Bridget (Jason ) Miller of Port Richey, Florida, and Brandi Chitester (fiancé Nicholas Cole) of Meadville, and a son Nicholas Pizer (Chelsea) of Meadville.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Hunter Miller, Staci Chitester, Gabriella Chitester, Destiny Cole, and Kendell Pizer; 2 sisters Freda (Larry) Ruhlman of Atlantic, Diane (Gary) Lyons of Canton, Georgia, and 1 brother Jake (Katie) Thomas of Atlantic.   Other survivors: Aunt Wanda Franks (her namesake with whom she shared a birthday) of Toledo, Ohio, many nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.   Wanda is also survived by her best friend Mary Wayne of Meadville. She was preceded in death only by her parents.   A visitation will be held, Sunday, November 29th , 2015 from noon until 2 and 4PM until 6 PM, when a funeral service will be held: all at the Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 North Second Street, Conneaut Lake, PA. Mrs. Rhoades’ funeral service will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Gary Lyons, her Brother-in-law . Interment will be in Adsit Cemetery, at the convenience of her family. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the public library. Wanda L.
