Wanita Smith

Wanita J. Smith, age 59, of Meadville, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Friday April 19, 2024.  She was born on October 8, 1964 in Meadville, PA to Elmer and Rebecca (Dietz) Smith.

She was a 1982 graduate of Saegertown High School.  Over the years, she worked at Fashion Bug, PNC Bank and Crawford County Notary.

Wanita was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. She was a cat fanatic and especially loved her cat, Tim.  She enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her father, Elmer Smith of Meadville, PA; her son, Justin Burlingham of Meadville, PA; her sisters, Sherry Smith of Conneautville, PA and Jackie Smith of Meadville, PA; her nieces and nephews, DruAnn Hollabaugh and her husband, Matt, Dylan Vatter and his fiancé, Alicia, Baylee Karschner and her husband, Tyler, Darren Henry and his fiancé, Maddie and her great nieces, Claira, Hayden, Ryder and Wrenlynn.

Wanita was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lonon and Bessie Smith; her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Wanda Dietz and her mother, Rebecca.

Private family services will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2024 with Pastor Larry Miller of Littles Corners Methodist Church.  Wanita will be laid to rest at Denny Cemetery.
