Wayne Koch

August 30, 1947 — October 17, 2020

Wayne John Koch, born August 30, 1947 and passed away October 17, 2020 at 4:05 p.m.  He was raised in the Montoursville area. Wayne moved to Conneaut Lake, PA after graduating from Bloomsburg University.  He taught at the Conneaut Lake School District for 35 years teaching business and accounting.  He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  Serving in his community in many ways, he was on the finance committees of Trinity UMC, the Conneaut Lake Historical Society, and His Work His Way.  He was also a Mason and a Shriner.  Wayne enjoyed trains, traveling and a lifetime of hunting at Easy Climb Camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn C. Koch, Dorothy Eder Koch and stepmother, Ruby Souter Koch, all of Farragut, PA and a brother, John J. Souter of Montoursville, PA.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Meyers Koch; three step children and their spouses, Dave and Wendy Meyers of Conneaut Lake, PA, Christine Shaffer of Nevada and Noel and Eileen Meyers of Philipsburg, PA and several grandchildren: Adam, Tyler, Meghan, Ben, Kate, Sean and Zack.  He is also survived by a sister, Diane Souter DeFebo of Williamsport, PA and a brother, Richard F. Souter of St. Sidney, VA.  He was loved by his cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 6 p.m. at Conneaut Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 N. 3 rd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 with Pastor Joseph Rial officiating.  Wayne will be interred in Montoursville next to his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either the Conneaut Lake Historical Society, PO Box 425, Conneaut Lake, PA 16335 or His Work His Way Ministry, PO Box BB, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
