William Joseph Barris, age 76 of Cochranton, PA passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Crawford County Care Center. He was born November 7, 1938 in Indiana, PA the only son of the late William Joseph Barris and Grace Beers Barris. He married Diane Smock. She survives. William retired as a truck driver from the Bigusiak Trucking Company, Cochranton, PA. He served in the United States Army having earned the rank of SP4. He entered the Army in Pittsburgh, PA and was honorably discharged at Fort Meade, Maryland. He was a member of the VFW Post 2006 in Meadville, PA. William was of the Methodist Faith. He was an avid sportsman. He loved his three Yorkies, Davey, Danny and Darla and his Chihuahua Missy. In addition to his wife of 18 years, Diane Barris of Cochranton, PA, William is survived by two sons: Scott Barris and his fiancé Andrea of Indiana, PA, and Bob Barris of Indiana, PA, three step-sons: Robb Crawford and his wife Mary of Meadville, PA, Ryan Crawford of Oil City, PA and Raun Crawford and his wife Ashley of Arvada, Colorado, a granddaughter; Molly Crawford of Arvada, Colorado whom he loved very much, a grandson; Chad Barris of Burleson, Texas and a great-granddaughter; Jasmine. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
