William Walter Durney

            Willliam “ Bill” W. Durney,  82, of Tionesta, PA passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday April 26, 2017. Born in Adamsville, PA on August 25,1934, he was the son of the late Walter K. and Gertrude V. Splitstone Durney.             Bill was formerly married to Dorothy Durney of Conneaut Lake whom survives.  He then married Joyce A ( Woods) Durney. She preceded him in death in 1991.              Bill was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1952. He retired from Supelco in Bellefonte,PA where he worked in the shipping department.  He then went to work at RMC Manufacturing as a salesman for muzzleloader equipment.             Bill was a veteran of the Army. He was of Presbyterian faith.    He was a member of Pumphouse 45 in Hartstown and the NRA.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, buying and selling guns, and riding his 4 wheeler around checking on the neighboring camps.             Bill is survived by two sons; Donald W. Simmons and his wife Bert of Greenville, PA; and William Durney of Erie PA; 3 grandchildren,  Holly Bond and Colton Bond both of Conneaut Lake and Joseph Simmons of Greenville, PA.;3 great grandchildren: Keegan Bond;Miracle Durney-Simmons, and Winston Durney-Simmons.  Also surviving Bill are two sisters Carol Roshala of Sharpville, PA and Patricia ( Ronald ) Reiter of Jamestown, PA; one brother James (Betty) Durney of Adamsville, PA. He was also survived by a family friend Terry Summerville of Erie, “Brother” Ronald Splitstone and his wife Velma of Jamestown, PA, and many nieces and nephews.             Among his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Bond, his granddaughter Ashley Bond, a brother Fred Durney, and a brother in law Terry Roshala.              Calling hours for Bill will be Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 from 1pm to 2 pm at the Dickson Funeral Home 130 N. Second Street Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.  Funeral will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Johns III of the Adamsville United Presbyterian Church officiating.  Interment will be at Greendale Cemetery in Meadville, PA.             In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.             Friends can sign Bills online registry at www.Hatheway-Tedesco.com  All of Bill’s arrangements are entrusted to the Dickson Funeral Home & Crematory, Rocco R.
