William Foster

Bill Foster, age 81, of Meadville, formerly Springboro, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2020 after a brief illness at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born June 26, 1938 in Meadville to the late James and Edith (Schultz) Foster.

He has been with his significant other, Kathy Burke for 26 years.

Bill graduated from Conneaut Valley High School and earned a degree in Education from Edinboro University.  He worked at Albro pickle factory in Springboro, GTI in Saegertown and did carpentry work.  He volunteered for years at the Family Community Christian Association.

He was a former Sunday school teacher at St. Paul’s Reformed Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing,  he loved his vegetable and flower garden and he loved his cats.  Bill participated in the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for 39 years at the Family Community Christian Association.  Bill was known for making his peanut butter fudge for the dinners.  Kathy would like to thank all of the volunteers that worked with him over the years at FCCA.

Bill is survived by his significant other, Kathy and her children; Anna Rearick (Gary), Mark Burke (Heidi) Michelle Burke (Keith) and Chris Borneman (Paul) and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by cousin,  Bob Acker and many other cousins and nieces; friend, Diane Davison and his friends that always helped him, Rich and Dawn Bish and Terry McCaslin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean and brother, Dick.

Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, PA 16335.  A Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with time for sharing memories of Bill.
