William Gene King Sr.

William "Bill" Gene King Sr, age 83 of Saegertown, PA passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Marquette Hospice House, Meadville, PA He was born November 17, 1929 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the son of the late William and Georgia Vaughn King. He married Joyce King. She preceded him in death in December 16, 1998. He subsequently married Loydeen King. She preceded him in death in 2010. He graduated from Scenic High School and had attended Abilene Christian College for four years. He had been employed by the government, working for the IRS. He had served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Meadville Church of Christ. He loved playing the piano and loved to sing. He is survived by two daughters; Mary Higgs and her husband, Bobby of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Betty Walker and her husband, John of Woodward, Oklahoma; a son, Billy King of Paragould, Arizona; a brother, George King and his wife, Oreey of Benson, Arizona, and a sister-in-law, Betty King of Portland, Oregon. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his two wives, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bud King and a sister, Mary Bassett. Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.
