William Nelson

William “Bill” R. Nelson, age 60, of Meadville, PA passed away on Thursday January 6, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on July 15, 1961 in Kane, PA to the late Leonard Sr. and Louise (Porter) Nelson.  He married Nancy Yarnell on September 19, 1992.  She survives.

Bill is a graduate of Kane Area Senior High school and Lincoln Tech Welding School in Cleveland, OH.  He worked at Highlander Energy in Kane, PA and as a machinist for over 20 years at Layke Tool and Manufacturing in Meadville, PA.

He was an avid antique collector and dealer.  He was proud of his new store, French Creek Antiques at 201 Main St. in Saegertown, PA.  He was a devoted Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his two sons, William Nelson Jr. and Nicholas Nelson both of Meadville, PA; his four siblings, Vickie Nelson Erickson of Kane, PA, Nancy Petridge of Hampton, VA, Leonard “Otis” Nelson Jr. and his wife, Debra of Kane, PA and Randy Nelson of Myrtle Beach, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Nelson; his sister, Barbara Nelson and his nephew, Randy Nelson, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
