William Glenn Wise, Jr.

January 21, 1944 — March 1, 2017

           William G. “Hooter” Wise Jr. age 73, of Meadville, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his residence, with family by his side.             William was born January 21, 1944 in Meadville, PA the son of the late William Glenn Wise Sr. and Betty Jean Sibley Wise.  He married Patricia Ann Waid on July 9, 1966.  She survives.             He was a 1962 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School. He was employed as a firefighter with Local 515, for almost 24 years with the Meadville Central Fire Department, McCrosky Tool-Heat Treat for 8 years, Trio Tool and Die for 17 years, Meadville Police Department as a dispatcher for 2 years and Allegheny College Security Department dispatcher for over 10 years.             Bill was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God.  He was a 50 year member of the Lodge No. 408, Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the Meadville BPOE Lodge # 219.             He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. Wise of Meadville, PA, two daughters: Tamara L. Peters and her husband Robert of Conneaut Lake, and Michelle L. Schall of Pittsburgh, PA, five grandchildren: Heather Pelc and her husband Dave, Erin Jastromb and her husband Josh, Penny Peters, Kathryn J. Schall, Eric T. Schall Jr., and Lindsey E. Schall, his sister: Karen Crump and her husband Roger of Meadville, and a brother; Rod J. Wise and Judy Gold of Meadville, a nephew Seth W. Wise and a niece Bethany Wise and numerous very close friends.  He was proud knowing he would become a great-grandfather in June to  Cooper Hayes..             He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill so enjoyed talking, meeting and fellowshipping with his family, friends and former co-workers.  He loved sharing the old stories and wonderful memories while talking for hours.  He was overjoyed with the love and friendship he received from each person who contacted him.  This he did daily until his health would not permit him the energy to talk any more.  At the end, he slept away from the arms of his loved ones and into the arms of his Lord.             Family and friends are welcome to call from 9:30 AM until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM on Friday at the New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, PA 16335, with Pastor Temple Jarrell officiating.             Memorials can be made to the Meadville Community Soup Kitchen, 956 S Main St, Meadville, PA 16335.             Please sign William’s online guestbook at hatheway-tedesco.com             Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, PA 16335
