Willis Edmiston

Willis L. Edmiston, age 89, formally of Erie and Centerville, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on October 12, 2016, after a brief illness. He was born on May 11, 1927 in Warren, PA, the son of the late Francis Edmiston and Gladys Spencer Edmiston. He married Evelyn White Edmiston in 1951. She preceded him in death in August 2005. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Willis proudly worked at Hammermill Paper Company for thirty five years, where he worked as a filter plant operator and as a logger. He took pride in knowing and understanding his craft. He is survived by two daughters: Patricia Mayfield and her husband John of Titusville, PA, Roberta Beers and her husband Bruce of Conneaut Lake, PA, four sons: Mark Williams of Arizona, Dale Edmiston and his wife Debbie of Ripley, NY, John Edmiston and his wife Amanda of Charlotte, NC, Willis Edmiston of Charlotte, NC, seven grandchildren: Curtis Williams, Troy Mayfield and his wife Vania, Kandy Muller and her husband Andy, Matthew Edmiston, Bryan Beers and his wife Ashley, Chad Beers and his fiancée Shannon Larson, and Chloe Edmiston, two sisters: Alice Peebles of Corry, PA, and Elizabeth Brown of Ashville, NY. Willis is further survived by five great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Willis is further preceded in death by a sister: Gladys Edmiston, and a brother Robert Edmiston.             As per Willis’ wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
