Thomas Duchene

Thomas E. DuChene, 75, of Conneaut Lake, PA, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2023. He was born November 2, 1947 in Faribault, MN, the son of the late Wilfred (Duke) and Elizabeth (Betty) DuChene.

Tom graduated from Faribault Minnesota High School in 1966 and Mankato State University in 1971.

Tom was the executive director at Bethesda Children’s Home in Meadville, PA from 1974-1978.  The family then moved to Minnesota where he was the Hospital Services Director at the Wilson Center from 1978-1982.  He then was a Prudential Insurance agent until 1987.   The family then moved back to Meadville where he worked at Sears from 1987-2000 and then worked at Walmart until the end of his career.

Tom was a master builder.  He built 2 homes himself and he could fix anything.  He was an avid reader and he loved learning and gaining new knowledge.  He also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, of 44 years; his five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Jan), Jim (Sue), Dave (Jane), Mark (Mary Kay) and Al (Shelley); his step-daughters and sons-in-law, Danelle Carrillo-Bennett (Gary) and Audeen Netz (John); his brother-in-law, Daniel Engel;  his granddaughter, Angelica Carrillo, whom he dearly loved and numerous nieces and nephews.
