Bill was a 1954 graduate of Cochranton High School. He was in the US Army Air Corps. He was a conductor for Erie-Lackawana Railroad (Conrail) for 40 years. Bill was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Meadville. He married Barbara L. Schwab in 1961 and she preceded him in death in 1997.

Alex married Delores "Sis" Spotts on March 4, 1939; she preceded him in death on March 24, 1988. He was a WWII Navy veteran receiving three medals: Victory World War II, Phillipine Liberation WWII, and Asiatic Pacific Campaign. Phyllis attended Meadville Area High School until she married the love of her life, Donnie Riggs on November 16, 1974. Together they embarked on a journey that would take 34 years and would end when Donnie succumbed to lung cancer on November 28, 2008, (Thanksgiving Day), just days past their 34th wedding anniversary.
